Grammar Girl’s Quick & Dirty Tips for Better Writing is a free educational podcast that was started in July 2006 by Mignon Fogarty. (It reached #2 on iTunes!) In July of this year, she released a book under the same title, highlighting the same one-subject grammar lessons she features in her podcast. Fogarty made an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and her podcast has won three awards: the 2007 Podcast Award for Best Education Podcast, the 2007 Podcast Peer Award for Favorite Audio Program, and the 2006 Podcast Peer Award for Best Education Podcast. Fogarty’s book also reached number nine in August 2008 on The New York Times best-seller list for paperback advice books.
